Immigration
Do you need a visa to travel into Germany or a permit for a longer period of stay? Explanations on the most important regulations and options have been summarised here.
The essential parts of the legal basis for the right of residence in the Federal Republic of Germany are the Residence Act and the EU Freedom of Movement Act. The Residence Act controls the entry, residence and occupation of persons who are not citizens of a member state of the European Union (third-country nationals) and promotion of their integration into society. The EU Freedom of Movement Act implements the freedom of movement granted to EU citizens and their dependents in national law.
