The Lord Mayor’s address for the new year

At the beginning of every year, the Lord Mayor Dr Jürgen Zieger invites the residents of Esslingen to a public New Year’s Reception, so as to bring in the new year with them.

After the traditional exchange of new year’s greetings with the Lord Mayor and his wife, Angela Zieger, the Lord Mayor welcomes the guests and gets them in the right mood for the new year with his New Year’s Address. Following the address, the guests are invited to a reception.

Each year, donations are collected during the reception, which go toward supporting causes such as the Esslingen Civic Trust or the Esslingen am Neckar Voluntary Engagement Group.
